This policy describes the personal data processed when you purchase and activate a Pro Licence of an app published by WM STUDIOS. Each app stays free at the Standard level and works offline; only the Pro Licence involves the processing described below.

1. Data controller
The data controller is WM STUDIOS, whose details appear in the legal notice: 61 rue de Lyon, 75012 Paris, France. For any question about your data, write to contact@whitemastering.fr. This policy complies with Regulation (EU) 2016/679 (GDPR) and the French Data Protection Act.
2. Data processed
We apply data minimisation: only the data necessary to deliver and protect your licence is processed.
- E-mail address: the one given at purchase, to send your licence key and provide support.
- Licence key and product concerned (e.g. Home Theater Maestro Pro).
- Device fingerprint: a pseudonymised identifier obtained by hashing, computed by the app to distinguish your devices. It is not a raw hardware identifier and cannot identify you outside your licence.
- Activation information: platform type (Windows, Linux, macOS, Android…), an optional device label you enter, activation and last-check dates.
- Payment data: processed by Stripe (see §4). WM STUDIOS does not receive your card data; we receive the e-mail and the payment confirmation.
Your IP address may pass through the hosting provider's technical logs during activation calls, but it is not retained by WM STUDIOS as part of the licence.
3. Purposes and legal bases
- Deliver and operate the purchased licence (key delivery, activation, verification on your devices). Legal basis: performance of the contract (Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR).
- Prevent fraud, combat unauthorised licence sharing and protect intellectual property rights, by limiting each licence to a set number of devices. Legal basis: WM STUDIOS' legitimate interest (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR).
- Invoicing and accounting obligations. Legal basis: legal obligation (Art. 6(1)(c) GDPR).
None of this processing is used for advertising or profiling. No data is used for marketing without your separate consent.
4. Recipients and processors
Your data is never sold, rented or transferred. It is accessible only to authorised WM STUDIOS staff and to our technical providers, strictly as needed:
- Stripe, payment provider (order and payment processing).
- OVHcloud, host of the website and the licence database (located in France, European Union).
5. Transfers outside the European Union
Hosting is provided in France (OVHcloud). The payment provider Stripe may process some data outside the European Union; such transfers are governed by the appropriate safeguards provided for by the GDPR (in particular the standard contractual clauses) under the data processing agreement concluded with Stripe.
6. Retention
- Licence and associated e-mail: kept as long as the licence remains active and their retention is necessary for its operation, technical support or compliance with legal obligations.
- Device records: deleted when you deactivate a device or when the licence is revoked, and at the latest 24 months after that device's last online verification.
- Support exchanges: kept for 24 months from the last exchange, so that a case can be picked up again and recurring issues tracked.
- Accounting records (invoices): kept for 10 years, in accordance with article L123-22 of the French Commercial Code.
7. Your rights
Under the GDPR you have the right to access, rectification, erasure, objection, restriction and portability of your data. Exercise them by writing to contact@whitemastering.fr. Where erasure is requested, data is deleted once it is no longer necessary, subject to legal obligations (for example invoices) and to the data indispensable to maintaining the rights attached to your licence. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the French supervisory authority, the CNIL (www.cnil.fr).
8. Security
We implement appropriate measures: encrypted exchanges (HTTPS), device fingerprint pseudonymised by hashing (never the raw identifier), restricted database access, and hosting within the European Union.
9. Cookies
This site is static and uses no tracking cookies or advertising trackers. Apps published by WM STUDIOS run locally and set no cookies; Pro Licence activation is limited to the exchanges described above.
10. Hosting
The website and the licence database are hosted by OVHcloud (2 rue Kellermann, 59100 Roubaix, France).
